Our November meeting will be held in person and also via Zoom on Monday, November 8th at 7pm at St. Gregory’s Church, 6201 E. Willow Street in Long Beach. There will be plant judging so please bring your plants no later than 6:45 if you want them judged by Espie Quinn and Gary Putnam. I believe that block of Willow Street is still under paving construction so please be careful coming into and out of the church parking lot.
Per St. Gregory’s covid rules, everyone, regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not, MUST WEAR A MASK to attend the meeting. The chairs will be socially distanced. When you enter the Hall, please feel free to use the hand sanitizer that will be supplied on the Membership table. Note that there will not be any refreshments served per St. Gregory’s covid rules, but you can bring your own water.
The Panel Discussion will be given by our own LBAOS members who were chosen on their ability to consistently grow prize winning orchids. These members will share their skill sets and wealth of knowledge on a number of topics that form the basics of good cultural practices, which translate into healthy and beautiful orchids. Something to note is that these members may approach growing orchids differently, but they all get great results. Hopefully, you will find practices that can work for you and will benefit your collection.
If you have questions on cultural issues, please send them to Connie Rieman at whodattalking@yahoo.com no later than Friday, November 5th. If the Panel has time, they will address your questions.
