Annual Auction

We will be having our annual fundraiser auction in April. Bidders must complete an online registration form prior to the start of the auction. You can do so ahead of the even by visiting THIS LINK. Bidders will be issued a bidding paddle at the event upon check in.

Calling All Plant Donations!

If you have extra divisions or specimen orchids that you’re looking to re-home, perhaps you’ll consider donating them to our April 14th auction? They should be healthy, good-looking plants that our LBAOS members and friends will want to bid on. The auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and every plant donation will help support the club.

Please take a look at your collection and if there are any plants you’d like to part with, we’ll be delighted to add them to the auction!

Plant Donations Requiring Pick-Up

If you are graciously donating plants for our annual auction but are not available to bring the plants to the meeting, please contact Patty Gould (562) 882-5442. She will make arrangements to have the plants picked up.

Don’t forget to include a brief description of your plants so that our buyers may have a better understanding of what treasures they are taking home.

Auction Event Guide

Our Auction meeting will be different than our usual meetings. When you arrive:

● Check in at Station 1 to receive your bidding paddle.

● Preview plants and decide which plants are your favorites to bid on and place a sticker on them. This will ensure that those plants get moved to the front of the auction list.

● Visit Membership table to renew dues or start a membership ($20 Individual / $30 for Family)

● Enjoy light refreshments

● Listen for announcement to take a seat and prepare yourself for the bidding.

● During the bidding, raise your paddle high so that the auctioneer sees you.

● If you win, a runner will come to you with the plant and a piece of paper for you to sign and acknowledge amount of bid and receipt of the plant.

● Continue bidding on your favorite plants.

● If you are done bidding, you will pay for your plants at the Station 3. You may pay with Cash or Zelle. Members may write a check.

● Show your box of plants and receipt at the door.

● If you need assistance with your plants to your car, we will provide assistance.

Light Refreshments Provided

We will have light refreshments at our Auction meeting. Please enjoy but stay seated during the bidding. Guest walking around will be a distraction to the bidders and Auctioneer.

Please remember that this is the main auction for this club. All proceeds go toward club programs and expenses. Bid generously!
